          Kurds plan show of strength

          Thousands of Kurds Includ-
          ing more than 1,000 Pesh
          Merga guerrillas! assembled
          yesterday in the western town
          of Mababad in preparation for
          a day of demonstration caTled
          bY the outlawed Kurdish
          leader, Shetkh Enedht has-
          se mi.
          Army and Revolutionary
          Guard units in the town re-
          mained in Lheir barracks as
          crowds converged on the town
          and posters went up i t t support
          of Kurdish leaders banned by
          Ay tullah Khomeini in August 1
          Sheikh ifosseini called for
          Kurds to march to the gnvea

          6stting between Kurdish guer

          Guerrillas are to protect the
          demonstrators today, but will
          not join, the demonstrations
          which are scheduled to pass
          close to the Army and Revolu-
          tionary Guard barracks.

          back under rebel control last
          week.
          The Army antI the Governs
          ment have issued separate
          statements to the effect that
          they will not take any offen'
          i lve action against the Kurds .

          Hashem Sabbaghian, was
          quoted yesterday as saying that
          the Government would halt all
          military operations i n Kurdish
          areas to allow negotiaUu by
          four-man ministerial team
          sent to find a settlement to the
          Issue . which has dogged the
          Government since March.
          The Armed Forces chief of
          staff. General Rossein Shaker,
          confirmed that the Army would
          not initiate any armed opt-
          rations but that “aggression
          and provocation directed at the
          Armed Forces will be severely
          confronted. '

          have planned a march on the

          Criticism has also been
          levelled at Britain by Iran's

          eccused Britain of adopting a
          hostile attitude towards the
          Islamic Revolution.

          particular those of Britain and
          Ameri a are openly working
          against our revolutlon, Dr
