How volunteers make a difference: The IHRDC welcomes the assistance of volunteers and interns. Our volunteers include students eager to learn skills that apply to their future, young professionals looking to use their extra time to promote human rights, and individuals using what they have learned over many years to assist a growing organization.

Program Development Volunteers and Internships: At this point in its development, the IHRDC is expanding and diversifying its fundraising activities. It is seeking qualified volunteers and interns to assist in these efforts.

Candidates should have an interest in fundraising, program development, and non-profit management. Experience working for a non-profit in one of these capacities is highly desirable but not necessary. Volunteers and interns will be expected to work at least 10-20 hours per week under the direction of the Executive Director.

Research Volunteers and Internships: The IHRDC’s internship program exposes law and university students to international human rights law and practice as well as the human rights situation in Iran. The IHRDC particularly welcomes applications from people engaged in legal or human rights studies, and/or with an ability to read Farsi, French or German.

Tasks may include:

  1. legal research in Iranian law and international human rights law;

  2. factual research on human rights topics including murder, torture, gender-related violence, disappearances, and extrajudicial killings;
  3. drafting of documents relating to human rights violations;

  4. gathering, categorizing and compiling human rights-related documents issued by governments, media, and nongovernmental organizations; and

  5. assistance in the development of the IHRDC’s human rights database

Skilled Volunteers: The IHRDC welcomes volunteers with a variety of skill sets to assist in fulfilling our mission. At this time, IHRDC is particularly interested in volunteers with desktop publishing, video editing, or journalism skills.

Applicants should email their resume and a cover letter to jobs@iranhrdc.org.
