Types of Submissions

  • Documents

The IHRDC welcomes the donation of documents and private archives to the Aadel Collection.  Examples of documents include official papers, memoirs, letters, photographs, newspaper clippings, interview transcripts, witness statements, audio-visual materials or anything that records or provides information relating to any human rights issue in Iran since 1979.  No donation is too modest and sometimes documents which seem trivial may, when put next to other documents, carry great significance.

Please indicate whether names or other information should be blacked out to protect identities of victims or witnesses and please indicate whether documents are too sensitive to allow for public access.  IHRDC will honor all instructions.

The IHRDC accepts anonymous donations, but please be aware that in order to authenticate a document and thus put it into the collection we require your name and contact information so that we can reach you.

  • Personal Stories

The IHRDC welcomes submissions of personal stories from those who have witnessed, committed, or been victims of human rights violations.  Examples include being arrested and imprisoned, witnessing or experiencing police violence, and being subject to unfair trials.  Those who have lost loved ones are invited to tell the stories of their friends or family members.  Some of these stories will be posted on the human rights dialogue page, with the goal of presenting the personal side of the human rights situation.  Please indicate if you would rather that your submission not be posted.  Please include your name and contact information.  No names or identifying information will be published.

  • Academic Articles and Discussion Papers

The IHRDC welcomes the submission of academic articles or discussion papers relating to human rights in Iran.  Some of these articles will be posted on the Human Rights Dialogue page for cyber discussions on particular topics.  Please indicate if you would rather that your submission not be posted.
